Reverend Gary K. Clark was the first elected national leader of the Holy Spirit renewing movement among American Baptists. Rev. Clark led the incorporation of the Holy Spirit Renewal Ministry into a 501(c)3 non-profit religious ministry corporation with a constitution and by-laws and the election of officers. The Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries re-elected him annually as chairman for twenty-five years.
Rev. Clark donated his Doctor of Ministry Dissertation on "Advancing the Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries among Baptists" to the Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries which can be read on the HSRM website. The document explains the biblical foundation for renewal, its historical development among Baptists, and the ministry goals of the Holy Spirit Renewal Ministry.
Gary's prayer is:
"That God may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep in the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to themeasure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:16-19
